International Water Day (Umbria)


The Youth Committee of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO endorses the unescan consideration of water as a key point of sustainable development in economic, social and environmental terms. The Umbrian committee, availing itself of the precious collaboration of ARPA – Regional Agency for Environmental Protection, has promoted an educational project in favor of secondary schools of II degree aimed at the knowledge of inland waters and the related material and immaterial heritage, proposing a reading of the landscape at the same time scientific-naturalistic and historical-anthropological. The celebration of the International Water Day, which will take place on Wednesday 22 March in the charming village of Rasiglia (Foligno, PG), is an example of a sustainable community developed around two sources, thanks to the use of water resources for construction of fulling mills, woolen mills, dyeing mills, wheat mills. Objective: to promote awareness in the new generations for the construction of a sustainable future.

The day “The ecosystem” Umbria “: The Sustainable Integration Between Nature & Culture” was born within the protocol signed by the Youth Committee of the Italian Commission for UNESCO with the Ministry of Education, University and Research which has as its object the realization of educational projects aimed at educational institutions in the fields of Education, Communication and Information, Natural Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, and Culture.
